Windsor

County Berkshire

overcast 9 °C

I took a trip to Windsor today. Just a fleeting trip as I tagged along with a friend to pick up a friend (no, not about a horse or a dog). Windsor is a very pretty little town with a new railway station, shopping plazas, nice restaurants and a whopping great castle in the middle. That houses the Queen, Prince Phillip, several corgis, and police at every doorway. Given that the castle is within spitting distance of the rest of the town, it struck me as odd that the Queen would want to be positioned so close to McDonalds. I concede that she probably had little choice - an objection to council would be lodged for all to see and the British media would have had front page news for a year. I guess there is no stopping progress.
